Students accuse Controller Cluster University of ‘misbehaviour’, Controller refutes Srinagar, Dec 20: A group of students Monday alleged that they were ‘manhandled’ by staffers at the behest of Cluster University Controller, a charge refuted by the said Controller. Group of students approached news agency Kashmir News Trust and said that instead of addressing their grievance and saving their precious year, Controller, Cluster University Gogji Bagh here in Srinagar city ordered his staff to show them gate and he also ‘misbehaved’ with their parents. Students said that they were unable to submit online examination forms for 3rd semester as on December 18 and 19, the link of University website had developed some technical snag and it was not opening. “December 18 was the last date while the next day it was Sunday and due to snag in website we requested Controller to keep the link open for an hour so that we can submit our examination forms, but he was too ‘arrogant’ to listen to us. Even, our parents requested him, but all in vain. He not only ‘misbehaved’ with us, but also ordered his staffers to drag us out from the University,” the students claimed saying that at least 50 students failed to submit their examination forms. When contacted, Controller Cluster University, Gogji Bagh, Prof. Mir Khursid told KNT that these are those students who are not serious about their future and even their parents are not serious about the career of their wards. “The students are lying, there was no technical snag in the website. We received over 7000 examination forms from other students. It is a small group of students who never remain in touch with the College and University authorities,” he said. He further added that it was not his domain to keep the link open as the competent authority (Vice Chancellor) who could have decided about it is out of station.
